Honeybees — wild and domestic — perform about 80 percent of all pollination worldwide. A single bee colony can pollinate 300 million flowers each day.
Grains are primarily pollinated by the wind, but fruits, nuts and vegetables are pollinated by bees. Bees pollinate 70 out of the top 100 human food crops, which supply about 90 percent of the world’s nutrition. Believe it or not, you have a bee to thank for every one in three bites of food you eat.
Over the years, the number of bees have been plummeting. I believe it is everyone's duty to do what they can to aid in bee conservation. I applaud all the beekeepers
in doing their part. Not only do they provide us with wonderfully delicious honey,
they help bring awareness to the plight of the honeybees.
It's time for everyone to take action before it's too late.
To help in my small way, I will be donating 10% of my profits to bee conservation.
